Are you an aspiring coach or solopreneur wanting to turn your business into a full-time enterprise, but feel lost and confused by what exactly you need to be doing each day to grow your business?
Today, I’d like to share three key actions I focus on that helped me grow my business.
They are simple and effective. You don't need to spend 12 hours a day hustling your butt off everyday.
But also I believe that if you love what you do, it wouldn't feel like a hard work to take action each day to reach your goals. (If you are procrastinating to take action, you may want to re-visit your "why" for starting your own business.
If you are struggling to make progress in your business, here are 3 actions you need to take every single day to grow your business.
#1 SHOW UP EVERYDAY
If you want to turn your business into a full-time enterprise, you can’t be just working purely when it suits you (unless you are happy with inconsistent income from your business and worrying about money all the time, or already have a fully fledge self-sustaining business!). You need to show up to do the work every single day without fail. I’m not saying you need to spend hours and hours on your business every single day. It could be as little as 10 minutes to pop over to your Facebook group to connect with your community or a follow up with your potential clients and take the rest of the day off. If you LOVE what you do, this shouldn’t be hard work :)
So you may ask…what EXACTLY should I be working on everyday?
There are soooo many things you can do to grow your business everyday!
The beauty of being an entrepreneur is that you get to choose how much you want to spend on your business each day! Say you have 5-6 hours to spend on your business today. Here are my suggestions of tasks you can get on with during the day. If you are doing at least one task from each activity below, you are doing an amazing job growing your business!
This includes writing a social media post, email, blog, and content for your free products or paid products.
This includes writing copy for your sales page, promotional post or emails, creating a sales funnel, hosting a live webinar or workshop that leads to sales and hosting sales calls with potential clients.
This includes personal outreach, following up with potential clients, commenting on social media posts or blogs, sharing your story, journey, behind the scenes or lifestyle on social media platforms and attending networking events or conferences/seminars.
Short on time? This is when automation comes in very handy! If you have systems in place to build your mail list on automatically and if you have a sales funnel running generating passive income, then you can be running your business on autopilot!.
If you are still in the process of automating your business I suggest focusing on growing and connecting with your community. Pop over to your own Facebook group to connect with your peeps or share something on your chosen social media platform – it’ll only take about 10 minutes to do that!
#2 FOCUS ON YOU
It’s very easy to compare yourself with other entrepreneurs out there and get caught up by all their success stories.
The problem with many entrepreneurs is that we tend to focus on what other people are doing all the time and forget to actually focus on OURSELVES.
If you are seeking inspiration from other entrepreneurs, continue to get inspired. However, if you are comparing yourself and start getting those negative thoughts then strop right now and start focusing on YOU.
So what does that mean?
Firstly, what was the trigger that helped you make that transition in your life and start your own business? That gave you the strength and courage to change your life? For me, it was Yoga and I realized that when I get lazy with my Yoga practice this is when my business slows down. Remember to focus on that and appreciate it.
Other activities that can bring the focus back to you are:
- Reading a book or listening to an audio book that inspires you and motivates you.
- Self-development – learning new skills or acquiring new knowledge that benefits you and your business.
- Doing the work that you enjoy and feels good to you – not because you feel you SHOULD be doing the work or because everyone else is doing it.
- Surrounding yourself with like-minded people and not getting caught up by naysayers.
- Gratitude journaling – appreciating what you have and receive and not focusing on what you don’t have.
- Meditating - this can be sitting down in silence for as little as 3 minute a day or moving meditation such as Yoga or walking mindfully.
#3 INVEST IN YOURSELF
Most successful entrepreneurs had their own mentor or coach and are constantly learning developing their skills and knowledge every single day. I never hesitate investing in myself and my business.
The problem with many new coaches and solopreneurs is that they are not willing to invest in themselves but they expect their potential clients to invest in them. If you are afraid to invest in you and your own business, why would your potential clients invest in you?
If you desire success, INVEST in a coach, mentor, training, mastermind, workshops and everything that will lead you to success and learn from the best.
Your investment can also be related to your health & wellbeing which will help you create a positive outlook, balance and strengthen your physical and mental health. Probably my biggest investment after my business is Yoga and physiotherapy - these keep my body and mind in alignment.
Don’t be afraid to invest in you and your business. Trust that money will flow back to you.
